SINGLE PARENTS
One of life's greatest blessings and sources of joy is being called somebody's parent. But if you find yourself raising children alone, you know better than anyone else that parenting is a job meant for two. Few understand the loneliness and emotional hurt many single parents carry or how exhausting the role can be. So, how can you be hopeful and experience joyful success as a parent despite more challenging circumstances? Become intentional!
Raising children alone is harder, but the goal is the same for you as it is for two parent families - to nurture Christian faith and values in your children and raise your children to be the person God wants them to be. That means becoming intentional about building a strong relationship, modeling Godly character, and creating occasions for meaningful interaction about life's most important truths. Remember, it is not accident that God gave you the blessing of children. He also is eager to give you the grace to be the parent they need.
A great resource is to surround yourself with a group of people who understand what you are going through, will pray with and for you and will love you unconditionally. We call those small groups or community groups. If you are interested in being a part of a small group with other parents on a similar journey, let us know. We have women's and men's single parent groups. Also, we have an 8 or 16 week study available, "Successful Single Parenting."
If you are looking for parenting support or books or even single moms that might need help with something around the house, we will do our best to support you on your journey.
We also offer Divorce Care twice a year. Each session is 13 weeks long. Anyone can join at any time.
For ladies, there are several women's bible studies throughout the year.
